I moved to PHP not too long ago and, I have to say, the transition from ASP.NET has been refreshing and quite straightforward (I used to do a lot of ASP and it’s pretty similar).
As our SWiM platform is built in PHP (specifically on the Zend platform) I will be spending far more time with PHP than I ever have done.
So, the question is, is it worth becoming Zend qualified?

No.
Surely a strong collection of references and a weighty portfolio speak louder than an exam?
The exam costs only 125 euros, yet it would never be the deciding factor in obtaining a contract, so that 125 euros would be wasted.
In other words, exactly what Chris said…
Thomas is right, this is a complete waste of time/money.
Even if you were a certified Zend PHP developer, it’s unlikely your customers will even know what this means.
They will simply want to know that you can do the job and deliver on the business goals they need to fulfil.
Portfolio and references are the best way to demonstrate this, so concentrate on building up a proven track record.
